Last evening, while seeing off a hot and humid summer day, I was casually serfing the Youtube channels looking for a melodious signature song. I stopped and opened a TedEx talk by Ms. Anuja Kamat on identifying the signature tunes. It was a fascinating video of roughly twenty minutes and then suddenly, I got my anchoring point of today’s topic. She explained that the signature tune, which we love or cherish is a bundle of many integrated strings. Answering the question; what makes your signature tune to be identified by audience? Is it language? Tune? Gharana (Genre)? The answer beutifully came out to be very interesting, and which was so far not known or closely observed by us.
It includes- Language, Tune, Instrumentation, Intonation, Intention, Emotion, and Expression. It’s possible literally peeling off the layers one by one and enjoy the melody. She had done it brilliantly experimenting the different mixtures!!!

Comming back to our discussion, if you really intersted to re-look to a phenomenon from the news clutter- and it’s necessary to make a reasonable meaning out of that, You have to follow the similar process of peeling off. Every phenomenon you pick up (very important for ‘qualitative research’) from the ‘Reality’- it’s a complex mixture of many dimensions leaving behind the subjectivity of the writter or reporter. It’s context, trigger, actors, time, direct and indirect influencers makes it such what is we call evidence.Many of us just makes our opinion and spread as next level information to others directly or through the social media. Here is the very purpose of re-looking into reality otherwise it may loose its way for ever. You have to follow few steps in doing that;
Language: What is the Language of a phenomenon? It may be the language or body-language) of reporting. It may also be the medium of the information (whether formal or informal). It may also be identity of the Protagonists and their background.
Tune: Look for the tune of a phenomenon. Is it a major or minor impactful? is it impacting present or future? How it is being reported?
Instrumentation: Can we identify the small incidents, which are constituting the phenomenon? Are they coherent?
Intonation: The phenomenon might present a history or philosophy behind it. What is that?
Intention: What are the important actors? What are their interests?
Emotion: How the personal emotions are making the phenomenon more complex? Can we see through the lens of objectivity?
Expression: Finally how the phenomenon expresses itself, without the help of the presenter.
I must be thankful to that video link and the TedEx organizer and presenter for the clue, I was looking for in answering my important question of how to press the ‘Re’ button. The answer is LTIIIEE.
