Gopali Youth Welfare Society

Gopali Youth Welfare Society (GYWS) started its journey in 2002 under the guidance of Mr. Mrinal Kanti Bhanja to support the people of underdeveloped areas like Gopali Village and

find solutions to the social, economic, and cultural development challenges by using locally available resources. In 2008, the society established Jagriti Vidya Mandir to impart quality education to deprived children, The school was further expanded in 2012 and 2020 through the acquisition of land for its own facility development and construction of a hostel respectively. Members from our 'Parampara' group are actively involved in the development of this school and hostel.

GYWS continued its efforts for social upliftment with two initiatives, LiGHT and PRAYAS, in 2017 and 2018 respectively. LiGHT aims to reach deprived people all over India with the social development model of GYWS whereas PRAYAS seeks to transform lives through rural entrepreneurship development. GYWS continues developing an ecosystem for the sustainable development of young people in and around Kharagpur.

India 4.0- Dr APJ Project is an initiative that aims to offer Free 4.0 Education to children from financially deprived families. Mahatma 4.0 Project is another initiative that supports young people in rural areas in adopting the best practices in agriculture, education, and management.  We are supporting Meghna's initiative by offering strategic and technological expertise.

Community Support at Dhamakhali Sundarban

Dhamakahli is one of the underdeveloped areas of Sundarban which is deprived of basic amenities. A group of Scientists from different IITs, NITs, and CSIR Labs visited the islands and identified the possibilities of technology transfer from a compendium of 54 technologies developed in the Research Labs of these institutions. The Parampara representative accompanied the team in assessing the possibilities. The team also developed the Treadle Pumps designed at IIT Delhi and installed no electricity pumps for agriculture. We are committed to supporting the people with our innovative solutions.
